Marshal's Training Day Information.

I recently received the following via e-mail's and wanted to make it available to all our members in case they would like to take part in the training. One is Anwcc run and the other is Ancc.

Ian Perrott

Just a brief note, going to all clubs affiliated to the Association of North Western Car Clubs (ANWCC), about the ANWCC hosted 2010 Rally Marshals Training being organised by myself in conjunction with colleague MSA licensed Instructors and Lead Trainers.

As you will no doubt have picked up from the ANWCC General Meeting Minutes of the following meetings, links circulated to your Club’s delegate (s) and other designated Club Officer (s) :

November 2009 - www.anwcc.org/mins-904.pdf

August 2009 - http://www.anwcc.org/mins-903.pdf

May 2009 - http://www.anwcc.org/mins-902.pdf

February 2009 - www.anwcc.org/mins-901.pdf

The ANWCC Rally Marshals Training Day 2010, including both the practical Incident Handling and bi-annual practical fire training, is scheduled for Saturday 30th January, in Stockport.

And based on the 2009 attendee feedback analysis that showed that overall only 29% of those attending actually heard about the training via their Club, with figures for ANWCC clubs being as low as 20% at one stage. Lets hope that this can be improved for 2010 and hence the reason behind contacting ANWCC affiliated clubs.

As always this training is FREE, the only costs being people's transport costs there and back together with locally purchased lunch (usually a couple or three £'s) if they don't want to bring their own. Besides the training being free there is usually a plentiful supply of FREE tea and coffee during that day as well.

There are 5 different Training Courses on offer, which correspond to the current MSA Registered Marshal Scheme grades (refer http://www.volunteersinmotorsport.co.uk/grading.php ):-

   - Trainee, Cadet and Student Rally training, formerly known as Introduction to Rally Marshalling,

   - Marshal (Rally In-stage) and Experienced/Senior (Rally In-stage), formerly known as In-stage Marshal,

   - Experienced/Senior (Rally Radio), formerly known as Radio Marshal,

   - Experienced/Senior (Rally Timing), formerly known as Timing Marshal,

   - Event Official (Rally) SC & DSC), formerly known as Senior Stage Officials (includes new & aspiring, plus existing Stage Mgmt Personnel, i.e. Stage Commanders, Deputy Stage Commanders, Stage Safety Officers & Stage Spectator Safety Officers)

So that people can undertake training or a simple refresher commensurate with the duties they usually undertake or gain an understanding of another duty before actually marshalling in that capacity.

Therefore the Association and myself would be greatly appreciative if you could let your members know about this opportunity and encourage them to attend, either via any direct member mail shots you have in place, via any member Newsletter, and/or via your club website. The on-line application form for this Training day being, http://volunteersinmotorsport.co.uk/tinc?key=nX0K3jBh&formname=stockport

If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact myself.

 Regards,

Derek

Hi

I write as the lead trainer for the Rally marshal’s training day on Sunday 31st January at Askham Bryan College York. The day is for all in the rally marshalling field and courses exist for all existing graded marshals or aspiring to a new grade marshals.

I know some of you are based on the other ( WEST ) side of the great divide but do not let that stop you attending. If it does create a problem, there is always the identical training day at Stockport college on  30th Jan.

For those that are located in the north of the area, there is a training day at Berwickshire high School, Duns, prior to the Jim Clark Rally, on Sunday 11th April if that is more convenient.

I write to you as the registered delegate for your club on the ANCC and ask if you could please arrange to have printed in your next news letter/ club circular/ club web site, the invitation below to all your members, to attend a training day.

Hi

Well it’s that time of the year again; the MSA / MSTT Association of Northern Car Clubs, York Rally Marshal Training will take place on Sunday 31st January 2010.

The training will take place at Askham Bryan College, York, as it has done for several years, and this year, as we did in 2008, we will be running practical fire training for all attendees.

If you haven’t already done so you can register to attend here:  http://volunteersinmotorsport.co.uk/tinc?key=nX0K3jBh&formname=york and we will send you joining details by return.

To fit in with the current grading scheme for rally marshals we have slightly renamed the various courses on offer, but the content will still be relevant to the roles you undertake on events. So please choose the session you wish to attend from the drop down list.

Look forward to seeing you there
